Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated
A lovely illustrated two volume set of works by Luis Labarta.
In quarter green cloth, with brown boards. Rebacked, with renewed endpapers.
With Spanish and French text.
These works are a collection of plates representing the most remarkable works of the art of forging, and particularly those by Castilian and Catalan masters.
Each volume is illustrated with 100 highly detailed and intricate plates.
The work is by Luis Labarta, a Spanish artist, and edited by Francisco Sein.
With a prologue by M. Utrillo, a French painter.
Condition
In quarter green cloth. Rebacked with renewed endpapers to both volumes. Externally, smart. Rubbing to extremities of boards, with splitting to joints. Bumping to head and tail of the spines. Slight fading to spines. Stamp to front free endpaper of both volumes. Internally, generally firmly bound. Front hinge of volume II strained, with the first three pages disbound from volume. Pages are bright and clean, with light age toning.
