Vues de Paris, a charming photobook of the iconic French capital by French photographers Neurdein frères (Neurdein brothers). A gift inscription on front paste down is dated to 1908.
In the publisher's original red cloth, with eighteen picturesque photographs of Paris in the 1890's. Collated complete.
Both artists, the brothers originally published a series of cartes-reproductions of famous paintings during the 1860's, before A. Neurdein decided to photograph beautiful sites while E. Neurdein was responsible for the administration. This particular photobook contains famous street views and monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Condition
In red snake skin boards. Externally, very smart. Bright clean boards with minimal marks. Signs of shelf wear to the extremities, with bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Slight fading and rubbing to spine. End papers are generally clean, with browning due to age. Previous owner's gift inscription to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with browning to first plate.
