Profusely illustrated with 1700 in-text and full-page colour photographs from Derek Kendall.

From architectural historian Philip Davies, author of similar titles such as Lost England 1870-1930 (2016) and London: The Great Transformation 1860-1920 (2022). Davies directed the London region of English Heritage from 1997 to 2005 before becoming the planning and development director from 2005 to 2011.

First published in 2012, this work explores the interiors of 180 diverse locations around London, many of which are not open to the public. Featured interiors include St Stephen's Clock Tower, 10 Downing Street and the Octagon Library.

Condition

In publisher's original red cloth binding. With unclipped dust wrapper. Slight bumping and rubbing resulting in minor loss of cloth to spine and spine tips. Small chip to top edge. Slight shelf wear to dust wrapper, particularly to the top and bottom edge. Intact with very faint marking. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean throughout.
