A delightful edition of The Corfu Years by renowned English artist and poet Edward Lear, edited with an introduction by literary and Hellenic scholar Phillip Sherrard. Published in 1988 by Denise Harvey and Company.

Lear became first enchanted by the Greek island in 1848, before settling there during winters and springs across the 1850s and 1860s, producing breathtaking paintings that can be seen in this work. Not only do we get to absorb these masterpieces, but his entries also give us an insightful glimpse into the artist's mind as he transports us to the majestic island.
