The first edition of this work to feature illustrations from Anthony Gross - a British printmaker, painter, war artist and film director - with a frontispiece and further full page illustrations.

Former owner's inscription of Jean M. Livingstone to the title page head.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Dust wrapper wraps bright, with sunning to back strip. Tape restoration to dust wrapper reverse running the length of the head and tail of the wrap. Light edgewear and minor loss to back strip head and tail, with a touch of edgewear to head of rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned to perimeters, otherwise clean and bright.
