Illustrated throughout by the renowned English writer, artist, poet, and illustrator Mervyn Peake, best known for his Gormenghast series of fantasy books.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with small mark to centre of front board. Dust wrapper back strip significantly age toned, with losses of paper to head and tail. Handling marks to wraps. Area of residue to centre of front wrap, penetrating to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
