An absorbing collection of war poetry, including verses titled 'Rhapsody before a Revolutionary Force', 'The Hunt', 'An Outbound Ship', 'Sleepless Night', 'Opium Traffic' and others, as well as three portrait sketches of Kipling, Shaw and Wells.
From Donald Sutherland MacColl, a Scottish watercolour painter, art critic, lecturer and writer. His biography of Philip Wilson Steer was awarded the 1945 James Tait Black Memorial Prize, with his journalism and books serving as major advocates of the French Impressionists.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, excellent, with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with minor toning to the endpapers and author's inscription to the front endpaper.
