Wyndham Lewis co-founded the artistic Vorticist movement and edited their literary magazine BLAST. A talented artist, playwright and creative, this work is the first of two autobiographical works. He later issued 'Rude Assignment' in 1950. This novel follows the period of 1914-1926 and tracks his life through the First World War as well as cultural movements such as Modernism.
This work is cited as being the first by Lewis to mention the 'Men of 1914' group of himself, Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot and James Joyce.
Illustrated, with a frontispiece and 13 plates by Lewis.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart. Minor shelfwear to the extremities. Dustwrapper is smart. A few small chips to the head and tail of spine which has sunned. Minor rubbing to the spine. A few small closed tears to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
