Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

With the publisher's original unclipped dustwrapper.

Wyndham Lewis co-founded the artistic Vorticist movement and edited their literary magazine BLAST. A talented artist, playwright and creative, this work is the first of two autobiographical works. He later issued 'Rude Assignment' in 1950. This novel follows the period of 1914-1926 and tracks his life through the First World War as well as cultural movements such as Modernism.

This work is cited as being the first by Lewis to mention the 'Men of 1914' group of himself, Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot and James Joyce.

Illustrated, with a frontispiece and 13 plates by Lewis.

A lovely copy of this work, with the dustwrapper in a relatively unblemished condition which is unusual.
