An incredibly scarce volume of poetry, in original binding, and attached pictorial paper wraps.
Author's ink inscription and signature to front free endpaper. Inscription reads 'With Birthday Greetings, from M. M. Burnell. Feb: 1931 The author'.
Features an introduction by the one-time bishop of Ashford, where this title was published, Henry W. Blackburne.
Blackburne describes Burnell's grace and poetic skill, in the face of physical ailment, describing her 'years [...] confined to her bed'. Blackburne explains that this work was Burnell's means of contributing towards a 'New Hospital'.
Condition
Bound in original paper wraps. Externally, a little worn. Small scorch mark to front cover. Small mark to rear cover. Sunning and spotting to covers. Slight rubbing to extremities. Spotting to front cover beneath paper wraps. Ink inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and and clean, with occasional spotting.
