With five plates by Jacquier, engraved in copper by C. Sigrist and in watercolour by The Curwen Press. Collated, complete.
A lovely Nonesuch Press edition of this notable work by James Thomson, originally published between 1726 and 1730. The Nonesuch Press was a prolific private press, producing 140 beautifully printed editions of poetry and literature.

Condition
In the original publisher's marble cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Very slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Spine slightly faded. One or two marks to spine label. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots to fore edge of first and last few leaves. Pages slightly cockled, more so to fore edge.
