The first separate edition of this work, in the original unclipped dust wrapper.
The King's Breakfast is a poem by A. A. Milne, first published in When We Were Very Young (1924). It concerns a cow who refuses to provide milk, causing the King to sulk. The poem was made into a film in 1963.
In this work, the poem has been set to music by H. Fraser-Simson, with accompanying vignette illustrations throughout by Ernest H. Shepard.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth backed paper covered boards, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. Front hinge strained, with text block just a touch tender. Blind stamp to front free endpaper, with inscription to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper lightly age toned, with handling marks. Entirety of dust wrapper laid down, with losses to back strip - most concentrated to head and tail - and to centre of front wrap. Closed tear to head of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
