Peyrol (a master-gunner in the French republican navy and "rover of the outer seas") attempts to find refuge in an isolated farmhouse on the Giens Peninsula near Hyeres.
Regarded as one of the greatest writers in the English language, Conrad based many of his stories in nautical settings or crises of human individuality, and his narrative style and anti-heroic characters have influenced numerous authors.
Condition
In the publisher's cloth binding. Externally, excellent, with minor bumping to the spine head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with toning and offsetting to the endpapers.
