A very scarce music book, The Ceremonial Noted: Occasional Offices of The Community of St. Mary with the Plainsong, complied by St. Mary's Covent, with a preface written by their choirmaster Winfred Douglas. Privately published by the convent in 1923.
In the publisher's original black cloth, with sheet music throughout.
An Anglican religious order of Nuns, St. Mary's Convent printed an array of hymns and chants from Benedictine sources for the convenience of their fellow sisters, accompanied with traditional music and/or music adapted from ancient sources. These include music during various monastic services, such as the Blessing of the Table and at the Patronal Festival.
Originally in Peekskill, New York at the time of publishing, this particular branch later moved to Greenwich, New York in 2003.
Condition
In the publisher's original black cloth. Externally, very smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. The occasional small faint mark to front and back boards. End papers are bright and clean, with one small spot to front free end paper and a small closed tear to the top edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
