First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

The first edition of this work. The first issue, with "litttle" to page 233, line 11, as called for.

A wonderful collection of tales from Conrad, featuring 'The Planter of Malata', 'The Partner', 'The Inn of the Two Witches' and 'Because of the Dollars'.

This was the last volume of Joseph Conrad's short stories to be published during his lifetime.

Partially removed bookplate to front pastedown.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with boards bright. Back strip lightly age toned, with light shelf wear to back strip tail, and evidence of neat restoration to front joint. Partially removed bookplate to front pastedown. Small loss to head of front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Significant spotting to first and last few leaves, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
