What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

The first edition. The second issue, with integral title page, rather than the tipped in title page of the first issue.

Lawrence's semi-autobiographical novel follows the sensitive son of a working-class family in early 20th-century England, as he struggles to forge his own identity amid the intense relationship he has with his mother, and his relationships with two women.

While the novel initially received a tepid reception, along with allegations of obscenity, it is today considered a masterpiece by many critics and is often regarded as Lawrence's finest achievement
