An extended and revised edition of the Neurdein brothers' (Étienne and Louis-Antonin) photobook of Paris, now including Ses Environs (its surroundings), including St. Cloud, Versailles, and Trianons. Published in 1910, believed to be first published in 1900.
In the publisher's original decorative red cloth, with all fifty-four photographs of the French capital.
Operating a successful photography studio in Paris for half a century, the brothers won a gold medal in photography by the French government in 1899. The book is particularly special for showing Paris's iconic and rich beauty with a variety of famous landmarks, such as L'Arc de Triomphe and Le Palais de Versailles.
Condition
In the publisher's original decorative cloth. Externally, smart. The small odd mark to front board near extremities. Marginal fading to the spine and slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. End papers are generally clean, with minor browning to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Slight tear to plate containing 'Le Pont des Saint-Peres'. Plates are bright and clean, with the rare mark or hint of browning to extremities.
