First edition, third issue, with a forty-page catalogue of publisher's advertisements to the rear dated June 1908.
In the publisher's navy cloth binding.
Comprising six short stories, all of which previously appeared in journals between 1906 and 1908: 'Gaspar Ruiz'; 'The Brute'; 'An Anarchist'; 'The Informer'; 'Il Conde'; 'The Duel'.
From Polish-British novelist and short story writer Joseph Conrad. Regarded as one of the greatest writers in the English language, Conrad based many of his stories in nautical settings or crises of human individuality, and his narrative style and anti-heroic characters have influenced numerous authors.
Condition
In the publisher's navy cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with slight fading to the spine and light bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with ownership ink inscription to front free endpaper and light spotting to the first and last few leaves. Presentation stamp to publisher's imprint to title page.
