In the publisher's original cloth binding. 

This is one of three poetry collections from Edgar Wallace, a prolific writer of sensational detective, gangster, adventure and sci-fi novels. 

These poems, inspired by Wallace's own time as a former war correspondent, explore themes of honour, duty and sacrifice within the ranks of the army.

With a forty-eight page catalogue of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

With the bookplate of one Richard Banastre Cross to the front pastedown. Cross was commissioned into Light Infantry in 1906, and seconded to the Government of Northern Ireland in an intelligence role in 1922.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. With cloth coming away to the spine and fading to the spine cloth. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and the odd spot. Bookplate of one Richard Banastre Crosse to the front pastedown. Contemporary ink inscription also to the front pastedown.
