    Description

    First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

    An uncommon first edition copy of this 1892 work, in original half cloth binding.

    Features a striking, and intricately rendered gilt motif and elegant gilt text to the front board.

    Includes a monochrome frontispiece, and 24 further unnumbered plates of contemporary Paris photography.
    Collated from a copy held by the University of Cambridge Libraries, complete.

    Also features 6 pages of adverts towards the rear of the text, and frequent vignette illustrations.

    Condition

    Bound in original grey cloth and half brown cloth. Externally, smart. Bumping to head and tail. Rubbing to extremities. Slight fading to spine. Occasional marks to boards. Slight small damp stain to rear board spine tip. Slight fading to front board. Significant age toning, and occasional spotting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd spot and handling mark. Spotting to title page.
