Richard Doyle's beautiful rendition of 'Jack the Giant Killer'. Doyle worked for Punch, designing the magazine's masthead for the first issue, a design which was used for over a century.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. The odd handling mark to boards. Blue paint mark to perimeter of front board. Slight discolouration to extremities and spine. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight rubbing to boards. Rear free endpaper torn with significant loss. Hinges cracked but generally firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the odd handling mark and spot to fore edge.
