What Our Customers Say...

Typee: A Peep at Polynesian Life (1846);
Omoo: A Narrative of Adventures in the South Seas (1847).

From American literary giant, Herman Melville, most famous for Moby-Dick (1851). Typee was Melville's first book, published when he was just 26 years old. Both Typee and Omoo recount Melville's voyage to and exploration of the Marquesas Islands. Following publication, doubt was cast on the fictionality of Melville's tales however the events were later proved true by an affidavit from the ship's captain and by Melville's friend Richard Tobias Greene.
