In the publisher's original cloth. Contains publisher's original advertisements at the front of the book.

Most famous for his essays, Charles Lamb was a highly talented and respected writer in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Includes his romantic novel Rosamund Gray, as well as essays on Hogarth and Shakespeare, poetry such as the dramatic Tragedy of John Woodvil.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, smart with minimal marks to boards. Minor rubbing to joints and slight fading to extremities of the boards. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. End papers are bright and clean with the rare mark. Internally, firmly bound, with minor wear to hinge between pp.208-209. The occasional leaf unopened. Pages are generally bright and clean, with minor age toning and the rare spot.
