Written by clergyman William Sherlock during his suspension from the church for refusing the oaths to William III and Mary II. Sherlock voiced many controversial beliefs and his following doctrines of the Trinity were named "heretical" at Oxford University. Despite this, he remained a popular theological figure, eventually becoming Dean of St Paul's.
Condition
In half-calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, smart with slight bumping, the odd mark and noticeable rubbing to leather. Internally, firmly bound. Mild spotting, heavier to the first and last few pages, otherwise bright and clean throughout.
